Amazon Tribes
Amazon tribes face lots of problems every day. Most of the problems are about land issues because outsiders want their own land for oil, gas and wood.
Since the Europeans arrived in Brazil over 500 years ago most of the tribes have experienced genocide on a huge scale, and the loss of most of their land.Indian tribes whose lands are respected generally thrive. But in Brazil Indians have no communal land ownership rights, while in Peru and Colombia many villages secured land title decades ago, but governments and companies regularly ride rough-shod over their rights.
